I have been coaching at Vernon Middle School since 2004, both as assistant and head coach of the 7th and 8th graders. 

My wrestling career pretty much stopped at 6th grade. I had decided to take up a different winter sport because many of my friends at the time were playing...and that is where my passion with coaching wrestling began. I dabbled in and out of the room as a high schooler and even during college when I was a practice partner a few times. 

Now I try to push the sport to as many athletes as I can, knowing what individuals can miss out on. As a football coach, I really appreciate the level of toughness and preparation that wrestling instills with athletes. I love to see athletes grow in the sport and because of the sport.

I began wrestling in Jr. High at Vernon Middle School. I spent 4 years as a Varsity Starter at Marion High

School. Upon graduating I obtained my Iowa Coaches Authorization in 2005 and became a volunteer

assistant with the high school program. In 2011 I was given the opportunity to become a full assistant

coach with the middle school program and I have been assisting there ever since. In my coaching career

I have had the pleasure of coaching multiple state qualifiers and place winners.
